Naya Saal Mubaarak !

This morning of Jan 1 as I sit on mom’s bed ..nursing my cuppa and working on a ‘hard’ Sudoku ..I look up to see her poking away laboriously on her phone screen, her brows a tad furrowed.

Me - ‘Ki hoya, mom ..?’

She looks up briefly, her phone pinging every few seconds - ‘Whatsapp messages ..jawaab de rahi hoon ..’

I give her a long look - ‘Lagey raho ..’

..and go back to my Sudoko ..suddenly finding it a lot easier to crack ..
